A Wyld wool hat with a story - finished with a genuine Weka feather and large leather tag.

The Weka Woo Hat began with Roger's famous "Weka Weka Woo" call (as heard on Country Calendar) and has become a little piece of the Wyld story.

Each hat carries a Weka feather as a reminder of the conservation challenges surrounding these much-loved native birds. The ribbed knit allows the hat to mould comfortably to your head.

No two feathers are exactly alike, so each hat has its own character.

The fibre

50% Pihepe · 25% Merino · 25% Possum

Our natural brown Pihepe wool is undyed and forms the foundation of the Wyld blend. Merino adds softness, and possum adds warmth and loft.

Wool doesn't need washing after every wear.
Give your Wyld a good airing between wears and wash it only when it really needs it. This helps keep the fibres in good condition and means your garment lasts longer.

When it's time for a wash:

  • Cool gentle machine wash or hand wash with wool detergent.

  • Wring dry in a towel.

  • Tumble dry on a warm setting. This can help bring it back to shape.

No need to fuss. Just don't over-wash it.
