Our pricing reflects the cost of being:
100% NZ MADE
WOOL
Our sheep are farmed on Banks Peninsula. They are shorn once a year. In Washdyke we get the wool organically scoured. Then it is sent to Wellington to Woolyarns to be blended and spun into our unique yarn.
Did you know that NZ wool is largely processed outside New Zealand? “Nearly 70% is exported raw or scoured, to be spun and woven overseas. Of the 30% processed in New Zealand, just over half is made into carpets, rugs or other finished products locally. The rest goes through various stages of wool processing, including combing, spinning and being made into yarn”. (https://teara.govt.nz)
SOCKS
Our socks are manufactured in Levin by Dave and his team at Comfort Socks. He is just as passionate about socks as we are!
GARMENTS
Everything else is knitted by Geoff and his team at Otago Knitwear in Dunedin.
We don’t try to compete with wool products produced overseas. Ethically we want to be 100% Made in New Zealand. We have worked tirelessly to achieve this.
ETHICAL
Our sheep are pasture raised and grazed, receive no chemical treatment, inoculation or antibiotics in their lifetime and their tails are left as nature intended, wagging behind them. They are shorn once a year in the summer thus allowing them to keep warm through the winter months.

We use slow manufacturing to meet the needs of the fibres, carefully creating each yarn for your use.
We grow and manufacture all our products right here in New Zealand. Using human ingenuity, we have created ways to use these natural fibres. Rather than altering the fibres to meet the needs of fast production, we have slowed down the manufacturing process to accept the natural characteristics of the Pihepe wool. We are committed to taking the time to get everything right, without cutting corners.
